Góðan daginn (English: Good day)!

I'm Ɠskar Bragi, yourĀ newĀ favoriteĀ Icelandic teacher!Ā

I began teaching Icelandic to connect with people passionate about the language. Over the pastĀ 10 years, teaching online has allowed me to forge meaningful connections with my students. And I've rediscovered my language more deeply in the process.

When I’m not teaching Icelandic, you’ll find me:

  • Enjoying some quality time with my daughter.
  • Immersing myself in the world of movies (I’m quite the human IMDB and love everything about filmmaking).
  • Exploring the breathtaking and dramatic landscapes of Iceland.
  • Occasionally taking a refreshing ice plunge (sometimes in the Atlantic Ocean!)
  • Quite often warming up with a lovely cup of coffee.

For those looking to improve their Icelandic quickly, here’s my advice:

Use filler words like heyrðu, hérna, or sko. Because they give you time to think and make you sound more authentically "Icelandic".

Remember: everyone struggles with a new language at first. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Connect the language to something you love, like a hobby, to make learning more enjoyable and see how your progress explodes!
