I'm Óskar Bragi!
I began teaching Icelandic to connect with people passionate about the language. Over the past 10 years, teaching online has allowed me to forge meaningful connections with students and has helped me rediscover Icelandic in a deeper way.

Use filler words like „heyrðu”, „hérna”, or even „ha?”.
Why?
Because they give you time to think about what you're going to say next, and they signal to native speakers that you know some of the everyday basics.
And remember: everyone struggles with a new language at first! So don’t be too hard on yourself.
Connect the language to something you love, like a hobby (doesn’t have to be movies or cold plunges), to make learning more enjoyable.
