I began teaching Icelandic to connect with people passionate about the language. Over the past 10 years, teaching online has allowed me to forge meaningful connections with my students and rediscover my language more deeply.

The course is designed for English speakers. Because English and Icelandic are very different languages, I explain things in English for most of the course so that you can understand the main concepts more easily, and the transition to Icelandic is smoother and easier to understand.
No previous knowledge of the language is required.
The beginner's course is designed for those who are starting from scratch, which is why it starts from the absolute basics. However, the course is also perfect for advanced beginners, as the difficulty of the lessons will gradually increase.

In addition to the basics, you can pronounce letters, numbers, and words correctly. Proper pronunciation is key to understanding and being understood in any language. Building a solid foundation in pronunciation will be essential to help you master this language!

Through the course, you will enrich your vocabulary with each lesson, covering colors, animals, food, seasons, days of the week, and much more. Through listening, lots of practice, and the exercises I have created for you, you will be able to manage the language and understand basic dialogues in Icelandic.
